Bio

I got my first SLR in 1985. For a while, I spent 1/3rd of my paycheck on film, developing, and equipment.  Ever since, the camera has been an almost constant companion. I took two with me when I went to Iraq, so I could shoot B&W and color.

Photography lets me show people what I see, how the world looks to me. When I get a shot just right, you get to see what I saw for a moment.

I’ve done portraits, landscapes, book illustration, and documentary photography.

I spent 16 years as an Army Interrogator, which taught me Russian, and sent me to Germany, Korea, Ukraine, Scotland and Iraq.  I speak English, Russian, French and American Sign Language.  Travel changes how one sees things; learning a language changes it more.

I could do a lot of manipulation with Photoshop, Capture or LightZone, but what I want to do is show the image I was seeing at the moment I tripped the shutter. So I use them, when I use them, to bring out the essence of what was, that you might see it for what is.

If you want a print, most every picture here is available for sale.
